With over 20 ministries, the Heritage congregation is seeking to strive in 2025. Together, may we grow in strength and grace to know and celebrate God’s presence in our lives.

Senior Pastor
Reverend Dr. Julian Dangerfield
Pastor J. Julian Dangerfield is a seasoned pastor, leader, consultant, speaker and Executive Director who serves as the senior pastor of Heritage Fellowship Church located in Reston, Virginia. Pastor Dangerfield’s perspective is formed by over 30 years of ministerial experience, and he has traveled to more than 40 countries executing strategies that lift humanity while expanding God’s Kingdom.
Pastor Dangerfield brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to ministry to his role at Heritage. With a deep passion for serving God and transforming lives, he has dedicated his life to spreading the message of hope and love through his various leadership and ministry roles.
First Lady
Lisa Atkinson Dangerfield
Pastor Dangerfield’s beloved helpmate, is Lisa Atkinson Dangerfield, a seasoned administrator with more than 35 years of policy experience in the areas of housing and community development. She has served the citizens of both the Commonwealths of Virginia and Pennsylvania as Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Economic Development.
Lady Dangerfield earned her bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and completed the Harvard University Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government.

What We Believe
The Scriptures
We believe that all Scripture is given by the inspiration of God, both the Old and New Testament, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). We believe that through the study of God’s Word and prayer, every student may be complete and thoroughly equipped for good work.

God, The Son
We believe Jesus, the eternal Son of God, took upon Himself the form of a man by means of the virgin birth. (Matthew 1:18, Luke 1:34-35; Philippians 2:6-7)
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven, and His intercession for all saints. (John 3:13, Mark 16:19, Acts 2:33, Romans 8:34, Matthew 28:1-8)
We believe in the visible, personal and glorious Second Coming of Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:20-24,1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
Humanity
We believe we were created in the image of God; through disobedience, sinned and fell, and the entire race shares in this lost and depraved nature. (Genesis 1:27, Colossians 1:16-17, Genesis 3)
Atonement
We believe we are reconciled to God through the atonement for sin that was made by the sacrificial and substitutionary death of Jesus Christ. (John 1:1-3, 14; 3:1-7; 1 John 2:2)
God, The Father
We believe in God who is the divine parent over all. God, as Father, reigns over all that there is, known and unknown with providential care. He is all-powerful (omnipotent), all-loving, all-knowing (omniscience), and present everywhere (omnipresent) and all-wise. He is fatherly in attitude toward all of humanity however; He is Father to those who have become children of God through Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 6:9; Acts 1:7; Romans 8:14-15; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 Corinthians 15:24; Ephesians 4:6)
God, The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells the saints, places the saints in the Body of Christ and bestows spiritual gifts individually to each of the saints for the edifying of the Body of Christ. (John 3:3-8; 14:16-17; 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, 13; Ephesians 4:30; 5:18)
Salvation
We believe salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and received through a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and this faith is manifested in works pleasing to God (John 1:12; Acts 16:30-33; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9)
We believe in the eternal salvation of the saints and in the eternal damnation and punishment of the non-believers. (John 3:16, Matthew 25:31-46)
Sacrements
We believe that the sacraments of the church, by the command of Christ, are Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper; both of which are administered to those who are born again. (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Cor. 11:24)
