Have you and your family been blessed?  You can show gratitude by providing hot menu items for our needy brothers and sisters or serving Sunday Dinner at the Embry Rucker Shelter in Reston on Sunday, March 19, 2023.  Heritage will provide a meal for about 75 residents.  You may drop off hot menu items at the shelter located at 11975 Bowman Towne Dr., Reston, VA, 20190, between 3 PM and 4:30 PM. We especially need volunteers to serve the meal from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.

In support of Shelter residents, the Heritage Fellowship Church Community Outreach Ministry is organizing hot meals at the shelter on Saturday, February 4 and 18, 2023, and March 4 and 25, 2023. The shelter is located in the Fairfax County Human Services building, and food drop-off is at the very back of the building. The shelter entrance faces the Silver Diner.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a champion of the poor and the marginalized. In his honor, the Heritage Community Outreach Ministry is coordinating a series of activities for a weekend of service Saturday January 14 - Monday, January 16.

The Fairfax County Hypothermia Shelter will be in need of hot meals for those who have come in for reprieve from the cold for their final two sessions this season, March 4 and March 25

The Fairfax County Hypothermia Prevention Shelter opens on December 1, 2022, and will be open through the end of March 2023. Cornerstones and Fairfax County want to ensure that our homeless brothers and sisters have a warm place to spend the night.

Our community continues to have food insecurity as the economy struggles to recover from the pandemic. Members and friends are needed to assist in this expanding food distribution program efforts behind the church on Saturday, December 17. Volunteers are needed during the week to assemble approximately 250 boxes and from 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. on Saturday to sort the food and prepare the boxes for pick up or delivery. If you are willing to serve, please notify Roz Fehr in the Community Outreach Ministry.

There are two options to support Heritage preparations of Father's Day dinner for the residents of the shelter you can pick an item from the menu and deliver it to the rear of the shelter between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. OR there are five volunteer slots for those who would be willing to help serve the dinner to the residents on Father's Day.
