Meet Shamikia Ward

Since accepting the Lord as her Savior as a teen, she has delighted in the task of serving others. As the oldest of six, she honed her gifts of nurturing leadership, administration and serving from an early age.

God gifts us with many talents and the expectation is that we are good stewards of those talents and use them for His glory (1 Peter 4:10-11). In addition to the gifts of nurturing leadership, administration, and serving, she also possesses the gift of exhortation, which she uses frequently to minister to friends, co-workers, members of Heritage and whenever comfort, consolation and encouragement is needed.

Here at Heritage, she currently serves as superintendent for the Sunday school programs. She has been a part of that team for six years, primarily working with the middle school group, Generation P.R.A.I.S.E. She also serves as servant leader for the Greeters and New Members ministry where she has been a part of that ministry for eight years.

Mrs. Ward has a servant’s heart that permeates in everything that she does; so while she leads those ministries, she serves wherever is needed.

In her professional life, she has a bachelor’s degree in business management with a concentration in small business and entrepreneurship and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in human resource management.

She has extensive experience (18+ years) in strategic business operations including leading change within an organization, in particular engagement & development.

She is employed as an Independent Advisor and Consultant working with small businesses.

She pursues God daily and believes in having a “battle song” for every season and keeping a Psalm on her heart.

Mrs. Ward has been married 13 years to her husband Phill.  Together with her brother they share guardianship of her niece Kendra.
