Academic Enhancement Committee (AEC)
AEC serves as a learning and education resource to the students and families of Heritage and the community. PSAT/SAT/ACT Prep and math tutoring are available after each service on Sundays. AEC sponsors fall and spring college tours and a Saturday SOL Prep. The Brothers’ Fun Camp, Girls’ Empowerment Institute, and Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program give students opportunities to develop leadership skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
Boy Scouts Troop 2501 prepares boys ages 11-17 to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime, in conjunction with the core principles of; duty to God, duty to country, duty to others and duty to oneself; while exhibiting our Christian principles and church values. Through outdoor activities, instructional activities and service projects, we assist boys to build individual skills, leadership skills, teach responsibility and hone teamwork skills, all while having fun.
Girl Scout Troop 8 provides learning and fellowship activities for girls from grades K-12 to grow strong, learn leadership skills, and have fun. The Girl Scouts leadership experience helps girls take lead in their own lives and in the world. It provides an opportunity for girls to practice different skills, explore their potential, take on leadership positions —and even allows them to fail, dust themselves off, get up, and try again. Girls Scouts is a ministry of encouragement.
Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.
